Test the speakers using the line in on them and connect a iThing / Android device to make sure the inputs are working ok.

My problem looks very much like yours. I had a Bluesound Node (the original version). I used an Dynaudio Connect in which a plugged the optical output from my TV (transformed to coaxial first) and the optical ouput from my Node. My XEO2 speakers worked perfectly in this configuration.

A week ago I bought the new Node, plugged the optical output of my TV in de optical input of my new Node and plugged the optical output of the Node directly in the optical input of my XEO2 master speaker.

To my disappointment the XEO speakers remained silent. I use the remote that was delivered to me with the Dynaudio Connect device. One possibility is that this remote only permits to switch between inputs on the connect device and that the remote specific for the XEO speakers should be used.

I have restored the old configuration with the Connect but with my new Node. This works perfectly.

You are selecting the optical input using the Bluesound App? Also try the HDMI ARC input on the NODE.

Ended up fiddling around turning both speakers off and on and eventually worked thanks for all the advice everyone!

My TV has no HDMI ARC. The problem is clearly not Node related since it delivers the TV signal it receives in the optical input to the optical output since the signal reaches the XEO2 speakers via the Dynaudio Connect device. I might try again land fiddle around like John did. Maybe I will get lucky.
