Controller Library New Album sort order

The NEW category on the main Library screen is very useful and I use it a lot. However I'm confused as to what criteria is used for sorting the albums under New. I see some albums that I added recently appear well below other albums that I've had for a while.

Does the app use the create date or modify date of the song file? The date and time of when it was added to the library? What if I do a complete Re-Index, how is "new" determined?

  modification date/time of file, and/or album title (if the timestamp is equal for several albums).
  If you modify any tag of a file, it will end up as "new" because of the modification date/time.
  
  I use an old windows program to change the timestamp of all my files if I change tags on already indexed files.
