Ethernet port node 2 blinking red

Led at the ethernet port of my 5 year old node 2 is suddenly blinking red at ip activity. What does this indicate? My home network is cat7 cabled and throughput of router & switches is 1Gb - all working fine. Node is working normal, except for this irritating red port led flashing.
