    Hi Andrea

Many upper-end headphones have very high impedance levels and require specialised headphone amplifiers. Speaker with your headphone dealer to make the right choice for you.

I doubt the Node would be powerful enough to drive some headphones adequately. I did try mine which are fine on my computer but it was not good on the Node2. I suggest you either consider an external DAC with headphone socket or a headphone amp.

Thanks guys, I've ordered a Rega MkII headphone amplifier on Amazon.
It should do the trick, I think.
Anyway, I'll keep you posted. ;-)

Grados, even the more expensive ones, have lower impedance than a lot of headphones, typically 32 ohms, so they are easier to drive. I tried mine plugged into my Node but, as you found, there still wasn't quite enough volume. My higher impedance AKGs were far worse. Everything is fine with an external headphone amp!
