Fixed groups: each device only in one group? Not usable separately anymore? No separate volume control?

So after a journey of getting my NAD C700 into fixed groups (https://support1.bluesound.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/4539073203223-NAD-C700-not-available-for-fix-groups-with-Flex-2i-) I was happy and wanted to try it out, just to find that this feature doesn't make to much sense for me. Maybe this still doesn't work correctly in my setup, but here are my questions:
- The grouped devices are not available separately anymore and cannot be added to another fixed group. Only this fixed group appears on Spotify Connect, the individual devices are not available anymore
- The relative volume of the players in a fixed group can not be set anymore, only the overall volume
Is this intented? I mean I wanted to use multiple groups to preconfigure various combinations of players, but istead of beeing more flexible, I am less flexible... I can only use both players togehter, once they are grouped... And I cannot change the relative volume of both players. Now I only have two players at the moment, and indeed grouping on the fly is now the better solution than fixed groups. But I thought about buing a Pulse Sub+, because I thought it would be easier to control it together with the NAD C700 then other subwoofers (as the C700 does not allow to disable the subwoofer in its settings, the setting only disables the low frequencies for the main speakers!), but the sub would only be used with the C700 and only under certain circumstances, and in other situations I just want the C700 together with the Flex 2i without any sub... So fixed groups won't help here and I have to group on the fly all the time... Why is this so unflexible? If I could store multiple groups, and still had volume control as with the on-the-fly groups, this would be a breeze...

Yes - a FIXED group is a group that will always appear as a single player such as Stereo Paired FLEXes, a Home Theatre Group or two sets of players used in a Great room (say a C700 in your Living Room and a mini in your Dining Room which are open concept).
FIXED groups are permanent (I will never break this group) groups. You want standard grouping based don't the needs you describe above to easily add and remove players for your needs.

Yeah, seems like I had some strange expectations here ;-)
Luckily I only have 2 devices at the moment, and for that standard grouping works pretty good. But I wonder how fixed groups would work out form me If I had more devices....
Anyways, it seems that if I would buy a Pulse Sub+ there is a special way of binding the sub to the amp, not via standard groups, which would also sync the sub activation with the according setting of the amp (if I understand the manual correctly). I hope I can test that out in some weeks.
