Jerky replay - new problem, same equipment
AnsweredI have a Node 2i connected directly (ethernet) to my router, which is connected directly to the NAS with all the music. Lately the music has become very 'jerky', especially when playing higher resolution files. But (a) this is new - none of the connections or equipment has changed; and (b) even at 24/192 you only need around 0.6Mb/s and I easily get 10Mb/s to and from the NAS. I've checked for updates to both NAS and Node, and rebooted both.

I would start by checking that the Router has not decided during a firmware update to put the ports into a “green” mode and ensure they can run at Gigabit speeds. Same applies to the NAS.
After this try swapping out the Ethernet cables, or at least reseating them if you have no spares and check they are Cat 5e / 6.

I just checked the wired speeds of my ancient and now end of life WD single drive NAS and get read speeds of over 75MB/s
