PowerNode HDMI input not ok
AnsweredI just got a PowerNode and a Sony UBP-X800M2 DB player, I cannot get any sound from the Power node when selecting the HDMI input. (I have tested and the Sony audio HDMI output sends sound, works perfect on a Yamaha AV amplifier). I looked in the app menus and could not find any special setup preventing this from working. IS THIS A PRODUCT DEFECT ?

Hi Eric
HDMI outputs of Blu-Ray players are not generally Audio Return Channel outputs. ARC out and eARC out are generally only on TVs. If you connect your BluRay player to a TV and then connect the TV's HDMI port labelled as ARC you should have no issue. You can also use Optical out or COAX out of your BluRay Player if your intent is not to use it with video.

Ok so the reseller did not know what they sold me apparently. Is there a way to 'convert' the HDMI audio output from the Sony into a compatible HDMI input for the PowerNode ? I am using the 2 optical inputs already on the PowerNode so I need an alternative, happy to customize a cable if this is just a PIN story : can you check with your tech team ? (Yes I am bit annoyed there)

Do you use a TV or projector? If it‘s a TV does your model have an HDMI eARC Input?
If you use this player for Video mostly, you use the TV and so connect the Discplayer directly at the TV HDMI without eARC and the eARC HDMI Input to the PowerNode. Be shure all settings are correct that your TV uses the eARC feature. -
I use a BD player, then a projector, the BD player has hdmi output... which i had planned to connect to the PowerNode hdmi-arc input... so now IO need to find a hdmi to hdmi-arc converter to be able to plug into my PowerNode because the other inputs are already taken... Suggestions wellcome (I have scouted internet and only found hdmi-earc audio extractors that ourput an hdmi : i need the opposite here)
