Video/music start to play in background when other program make sound (Airplay 2)
AnsweredBasic info:
Node (2021)
Macbook Pro M1
Airplay 2
Genelec speakers
Here’s one scenario:
On a Firefox tab I have Youtube open, a video is paused. The tab is not active and I’m doing something else. I also have Whatsapp desktop app open in the background. When I get new messages, YouTube video continue to play automatically.
Kinda same happened before when starting to play a YouTube video launched Apple Music for dead. I found a workaround for that but it’s happening with other apps too. For example, I have Tidal open and paused but it also starts to play music when I open a YouTube or Twitch video.
I have never used Airplay 2 before so I don't know that technology that well. I have never had this issue before when using Macbook’s own speakers. I didn't know it's even possible to launch or interact with other programs just by starting to play a video or music.
Does anyone know what’s doing on?
Happy to give you more info if needed!

When using AirPlay and a MacBook, it is very similar to just plugging in speakers to the headphone jack. The audio is starting on your MAcBook. NOt sure what is happening regarding auto playback but here are details on how to adjust audio preferences on your MacBook with AirPlay which may give you a clue as to what is going on...
