Same here with a bluesound powernode 2021. It s not possible to use spotify on those conditions

It seems that Spotify has now implemented the required API part for the eSDK. The SpFormat struct now includes gain_mdb that indicates how much gain to apply to the current track. https://developer.spotify.com/documentation/commercial-hardware/implementation/reference/latest#spstreaminfo

Please implement this. It's really annoying to have to constantly adjust the volume.

Just bought a new PowerNode, and have exactly this problem when I play Spotify. It's very annoying to manually have to change the sound volume all the time. It doesn't matter what kind of normalisation I use (smart, track or album). Apparently this been a problem for years now. Please implement this!

    Hi Stefan

Enabling Audio Normalisation is controlled in the Spotify App under Settings, Playback.

No, not if you connect to Powernode with spotify connect. The settings can then only be done on Powernode. Spotify is effectively running on Powernode and the audio settings in Spotify are grayed out. As far as I can see this has been discussed for a couple of years now.

I can add that it's the same problem with Tidal when I use Tidal connect. The normalisation doesn't seem to work. Some songs on high volume and some on very low. Very annoying.

Agree, Spotify normalization doesn't work even though it's toggled in the Spotify app. Very annoying.

    What's the solution?

Any updates on this? I have same on my NAD C3050 with Bluesound card, it's super annoying having the volume jumping around in a listening session.

No, no updates. It's the same problem with Tidal, not only Spotify. I'm using normalisation both in Tidal and in the Bluesound setting, but still have to run up and down to change the volume. I'm using Tidal connect and have tried different settings, but it doesn't change anything.

Hey Stefan, this was more aimed at Support, who 2 years ago mentioned:

One would have hoped this would have been addressed by now!
