You may notice a 6db drop in audio when enabling Tone Controls to make headroom for adjustments. Please see https://support.bluos.net/hc/en-us/articles/360000303168 for more details.

When turning off tone controls the 6db Audio will be restored...

PS:  when I toggle the TONE CONTROL on / off in the same exact way with my PowerNode 2i, the volume does not change.  Why does this inconsistency exist between the two units?

Hi Tony....Thanks so much for the reply!  But I am experiencing the complete opposite of your response.  The volume goes UP significantly when I toggle "TONE CONTROLS" on.  Not DOWN as you assert.

Also, why does it only happen with my Node 2i and not my PowerNode 2i?

Figured out the problem, just wanted to close the loop on this discussion.   Via its coax outputs, I had been running the Node 2i into an outboard DAC when this problem occurred. I now realize that Tone Control and crossover processing does not occur at the digital outputs, only at the analog outputs. When I use the Node's analog outputs, all works exactly as it should.
