Ripped albums not visible in vault storage
AnsweredEvery so often, when I rip a CD into my Vault, I take a look at the Music folder and the ripped music is not visible to me. I may see two copies of the folder for the artist. The album is clearly present in my Vault since I can see it in the BluOS app. But if I want to add art work, I just cannot find the files. Sometimes I try deleting the folders to start over and get the following message:
“Could not find this item. This is no longer located in [Path]. Verify the item’s location and try again”
Can anyone explain what is going on here? FWIW, my workaround has been to use Roon to export the album from the Vault into my Roon Rock system and reindex everything. But the duplicated folders are still present in my Vault.
The whole thing is weird. Hope someone can help with this.

Hi Bob
The error you are getting is you are trying to play a file that is no longer there, likely because you deleted it. The BluOS Local Library is not dynamically updated and needs to be Reindexed if files are removed or manually added (by drag and drop - ripping a CD will automatically update the index but the CD will not show until about 15-20 mins after it is ejected as it is still rendering...
Settings, Music Library, Reindex to update the local library
Help, DIagnostics, Rebuild Index to purge and recreate the Local Library database.
See; https://support.bluos.net/hc/en-us/articles/360000380348 on how CD Ripping works.(P.S. - Nice Monarchs hat BTW...)
