Consistent gravelly fade-in of audio stream across several players - buffering issue?
AnsweredHello,
I have several BluOS players - Node, NAD MDC plug-in for my M32, PowerNode, Flex and Pulse, and each one is a wired-in device (not using wifi). I notice often not always, that when I start a playing session, the first song suffers from the unit fading-in the audio stream - I lose the first second or two of audio as the volume increases to the preset level. I usually hit the back button to restart the song and that's OK. This sounds like a buffering issue. I do not notice this issue when playing from my NAS library; only with a streaming source. I do not notice this problem between songs during a session if I don't deviate from a running play queue. If the song has a few seconds of dead air at the beginning no problems. It's for those that start with music right from the get-go. Super annoying.
Is there anything I can do to improve this condition? Do others report this issue?
thanks,
JP Lee

Something does sound off here but our Support Crew will need to take a closer look. Please select Help, Send Support Request in the BluOS App. In the brief description field please enter exactly as typed the following string (lowercase and with the underscores);
_alldiscovered_
This will send us the log files to all your players so we can check if there is a buffering or timing error.

OK will do Tony. FYI, I have narrowed things down a bit with more testing, and want to get things down in writing, which I might be able to refer to later. I have three devices.
- Node 2 which is hardwired - never any problems ever. Relatively short run of network cable (~20 ft).
- BluOS MDC module (orig version) in my M32 - hardwired - has problems. Relatively long run of network cable (~50 ft)
- Pulse Mini - wireless - has problems. About 40 feet from base station on same floor.
The problem is repeatable, but not always. If I play from my Library NAS, no problems. If I stream TIDAL, occasional problems. Let's say I have a bunch of songs in my play queue, and I randomly select songs from it to play. Sometimes I will get the fade-in problem for song "X", then go to song "Y", then back to "X" and the problem disappears. Then I go to songs "A", "B", "C" (no probs with any of them), then back to "X", and the problem reappears.
It feels like sometimes the initial timing is off a hair, and it's noticeable where the song has music from the get-go. Then the song gets into the buffer, and it's fine If I try again and it's still there for a little bit, but then gets pushed out, and if I go back after a few more songs, I notice the problem again.
Trying to capture this notion into a clear and concise message.

Issue is NOT ANSWERED. I sent in my logs and have heard nothing. Well over a month ago. Nothing in reply. It’s quite frustrating. Constant reminder every time I listen.
