Does the controller stream the content or just commands to the player?

The Bluesound controller App is exactly that a controller and does not send any audio itself, think of it as a TV remote control and that once music is playing you can power off the controller and music will continue to play.

You can of course send music via Bluetooth / Airplay from the controller device to BluOS hardware but that nothing to do with the Bluesound app.

The streams timing out… Bluesound has no playing time limits.

Could be a number of things but try and note down if it’s music from your NAS or a music service that’s doing it or indeed both.

OK, thanks.  That is what I thought made the most sense that the app is just acting as a command/control source for the player.  I know the timeout issues has happened streaming music from Amazon Prime Music.  I don't remember if it has happened with music from my NAS or not, but I will watch for that and see if I see any pattern.

Today I exclusively streamed music from my NAS and did not receive the error about the stream connection timing out so this must be related to something with streaming from Amazon Prime Music,  although I have not seen that before streaming directly from music.amazon.com in a browser on my Macbook.

Sorry to warm-up an old topic, but I am interested in the same thing: if the controller app is just a controler, then why does the volume from the NODE decreases when I receive a Viber message on my phone?
This is a normal behaviour for a Bluetooth device, but shouldn't occur on NODE with WiFi streaming.
    Thanks

    Hi Vladimir

If your phone is interrupting the music, you are not streaming Wi-Fi and the source of your music is the phone via Bluetooth. This will not happen using the BluOS App. Please ensure your Bluesound Player is properly connected ot the network using www.bluesound.com/setup
