Arcam CD player - digital out to powernode
AnsweredHI All
I managed to get my hands on an Arcam alpha 1 CD player
Currently i am able to connect to the analog in on my powernode, and let the Arcam use it's built in DAC
However, i was keen to compare to the powernode DAC, but the digital out of the CD player is a digital audio co ax.
My trivial understanding is that i would need to convert the co ax to a toslink and attach as an optical in, but does that not mean i'd need a convertor, and this would the potential to degrade the sound?
Thanks
Andy

You will need a S/PDIF coaxial digital input to a TOSLINK digital output converter.
In therory, a converter will not degrade the sound. -
Thanks Bjorn,
I was unsure if the converter by definition clipped the Frequency output,
Then i was even unsure if it's worth it, and the analog out of the Arcam already sounds great!
