Difficulty Setting up Node (N130) in Network
AnsweredFollowed by 3 people
My main goal is to stream from the Node music in my NAS, Qobuz and Amazon Music via the wired Ethernet connection.
My main questions to you:
- Do you have to set up the Node via Wi-Fi first and not Ethernet connection when it is brand new?
- Are the steps below to set up a brand new Node expected or did I go through a more difficult path?
These are the steps I took when I received my BRAND NEW Node and proceeded to set it up. (I have had a N100 and a Node 2i before)
- I have a home network with a Ethernet wired connection
- Within my home network, I have a wireless router that I set up as an access point for Wi-Fi
- I took out the Node from the box and connected it to the network via the Ethernet cable
- The LED on the Node was blue: connected to the network.
- I went to my Windows PC to set up the Node; this PC is connected to the network via Ethernet, NOT Wi-Fi
- My PC found the player
- I tried to connect my NAS to the Node, but it would not work. The Node simply could not see the NAS even after I manually entered the name of the share and the credentials to get into it. (it has worked before with the N100 and the Node 2i)
- The BlueOS App on my Android phone could not find the player
- So I decided to proceed the Wireless way
- I disconnected the Ethernet cable from the Node
- I disconnected the power cable from the Node
- O powered the Node: the LED was green (hot spot mode) when the power was back on in the Node
- I went through the phone app menu prompts to set up the player and it failed to complete
- I reset the brand new Node to factory default
- I proceeded again using the phone app and the Wi-Fi connection using the Node as a hot spot just like I just explained above.
- This time the app went further and got to the point where the player was upgrading
- I waited like 15 or 20 minutes and the process completed
- I went back to the PC and the PC could not find the Node: the Node was not connected via Ethernet
- I connected to the network via Ethernet, and the PC found the node
- I attempted to set up my NAS again via the PC and this time it WORKED!
- I proceeded to re-index my music in my NAS share in the Node player
- It worked
- All was good after this and I can play music from my PC and from my phone like before.

Glad you got it working but it sounds like you went a long about way; www.bluesound.com/setup...
