Amazon HD integration
I have just bought the Bluesound NODE (2021 version). I want to know if I can use the Amazon music app natively when playing through the node.
This is important to me for several reasons, not just playlists. Amazon knows my quite wide ranging and eclectic music tastes very well and its algorhythms suggest new music to me in several ways and allows me to keep track of what I've been listening to.
First there is "my song history" which saves the last 250 tracks played on my interface. Then there is "frequently played" which allows me to access songs I've played frequently without having to add them to playlists. Then there are various playlists that the algorhythms suggest to you which are actually pretty good suggestions. Then there is "my discovery" playlist which again suggests new artists/albums which are uncannily tailored to your tastes, however eclectic these may be. Finally there is "my station", probably the best feature, which plays music the service knows that you love but throws in new discoveries as well. Add in "similar artists" you may like and I think you've got a pretty well-rounded and comprehensive streaming service, which for some reason gets quite a lot of hate... I don't know, must be an anti Jeff Bezos thing.
Anyway, long story short, if I cannot get the Amazon app to work natively in BlueOS, or failing that if BlueOS does not provide me with similar level of versatility and quick learning in its own app then it's goodbye Bluesound NODE!

Amazon HD does not have a connect feature like Tidal / Spotify has but…
If you use the native app you can either use Airplay or Bluetooth from the device that’s running the Amazon Muisc app this way you get all the features of the Amazon app,
Personally I use both the App and the Amazon Music integration within the Bluesound. Using the Amazon app, building playlist / favouriting albums etc. which are then accessed in the Bluesound App.
Edit, another option would be to hardwire your controller device to the input on the NODE.

Thanks for your reply. Is there any way of importing from Amazon the features I mention above into my Bluesound controller? My guess is probably not, in which case Bluesound has to learn about the way I listen to music all over again.
As for the sound, well I'm not super impressed. On my system, it sounds very detailed and gives good separation between instruments but there is a distinct digital sheen that I don't get with the ifi Zen blue. This Zen blue has a warmer presentation and voices sound more human to my ears. It could of course be a case of I started with the Zen blue so I like that one better and it could have been the other way round if I was used to the Node first. Also, maybe the Node will sound warmer as it runs in, if you believe in that sort of thing.

Ok, I'm revising my opinion about the sound. It probably is technically better than the Zen blue and some the audible extra detail is breathtaking, Lana Del Rey's Honeymoon (the title track from the album with the same name) but for the moment I would still stand by the slight digital impression I get from the sound.
