Slow playback speed of m4a tracks

I am using an external USB drive connected to my router and have reindexed my library.  When I play certain .m4a tracks the song playback speed is very slow.  However, when I play the same track on my PC (with external drive connected) the playback is normal.  This is happening on only a few tracks.  Any ideas?

  Sounds like a problem with those certain .m4a files not being encoded properly. Please review their bit-rate and ensure they are not extreme low-res (less than 96 kbps).
