HD external and PowerNode
Good evening everyone! I noticed that my self-powered external hard drive, connected to the PowerNode (with usb), has the LED on and blinking continuously, even if I don't listen to any tracks or (for example) Radio Paradise. Is there a risk of damaging the HD as the days go by? Is it better to use a pen drive or an external HD?

Your Bluesound equipment will not "damage" anything. It will only read data when you play music.
However, there will be no "hibernation" on the external disk when it's connected, so it will be running 24/7.
All HD's will fail one time, but you should expect a lifespan of at least 3-5 years depending on use and quality of the "mechanics".
I keep my drives always on, and have drives that has been running over 100' hours without issues, but also have had drives dying after one year of usage. -
Thank you so much, Bjørn!

So is it the same thing to use a pen drive or an external hd?

For "reading", they are basically the same.
