From what I gather Spotify Connect does support CD quality.

Spotify is promising for ten months to introduce high quality product. Still not there.
The current max quality is lossy AAC 256kbit/s

Rather than wait for CD quality from Spotify there are other music streaming services that are available today.

Unfortunately it appears they have tabled their HiFi rollout. Check to see if your cell phone provider has an Apple Music partnership or any of your other subscriptions offer a discount to an already rolled out HiFi platform
