The dreaded lost library
AnsweredI'm trying to figure out why my Bluesound players and app can't find my local music any longer. Roon is able to. When I try re-indexing it says it is, but then stops and never gives a track count. The share locations are the same. No new computer upgrade. I bought a flex 2i a month ago and it set up just fine, integrating with an older Node and Pulse Mini. I've tried disconnecting devices, all the usual tricks. Nothing.
This is with a Mac running MacOS Monterey.
I ‘ve used Bluesound for a number of years without vert many problems. Usually if I just unplug and plug back in a player it will find the local library. Not this time. Even tried turning off Wi-Fi, turning off the computer with the share, plus all three devices. Same problem. Flummoxed. As I said, Roon can still see the files and play them throu the devices, but I’d like BluOS control as well.

HI John
You likely have a file (or perhaps a number of files) that has a music extension such as .m4a or .flac (likely .m4a) that has no actual audio in it that is causing indexing to have to restart. Look for an M4a file that is really small - say 4KB in size...

Well, as I was playing Roon, I tried a reindex for maybe the tenth time. It worked. No idea why.
