How may sources does the node support?  Example playing a song in one room and different another song in a different room. Or would I need two nodes?

  You would need two Bluesound Players for that scenario. 

  Multiple Players can either work independently or be grouped for Multiroom Playback with a simple click in the App; https://support.bluos.net/hc/en-us/articles/360044050794

  Since a Node will be connected to an amplifier, it will be difficult to play in more than 1 room.
  You will need 1 player for each room.
