    Since BlueOS use the "Albumartist/Album Artist" tag for the "Artist" view in the controller, I would first try to either remove the "Albumartist/Album Artist" tag or make sure all are the same.

    The columns in MP3Tag I use to find any mismatch are:

    In MP3Tag, "rightclick" on one of the files, select "Extended Tags". Maybe "Album Artist" , "Ensemble" or "Albumartist" is tagged undefined ?

    Good thought, but probably not. I always clean up my tracks before copying them to the BluOs folder. Although I found some that slipped through :-) Most of the "undefined" folders were clean and still showed up as "undefined"

    Even more, suppose there are 10 albums with the artist Seal. 2 of them have tagging issues. Then I would expect to have those 2 to show up as "undefined", and the rest still under Seal. And then all albums with "undefined" issues would show up together. But I have a whole bunch of those "undefined" folders in BluOs under Library\Artists\.

    And why would Android have no issues then? If it is a tagging issue, you would expect to appear in all controllers.

    But still, sharp thinking :-)

    Looks like you have full control of the tagging then :-)

    Try deleting the "BluOS cache" in Windows;

    "C:\Users\your username\AppData\Roaming\BluOS Controller\Cache"

    Tried deleting the cache, no effect. Tried deleting the whole BluOS Controller directory in AppData and reinstall. New directory appeared with files with new dates. But no effect, still Seal and others show up as "undefined".

    I assumed that since the rebuilding actually happens inside the player, that trying that again also will make no difference.

    Database is stored in the player, so rebuilding/reindexing would not change much.

    Are those "undefined" files flac/mp3 or wav-files?

    No mp3, maybe some wav. Most of them flac. I tried deleting the wav files. No effect. Next steps: check the artwork (always make them 600x600, but maybe one slipped through). If that is ok, I will delete all Seal albums, remove the software, kill the cash file, reinstall and add each album and reindex one by one to see if it is one of the albums that causes it.

    But I still suspect the Windows app and my impression that it happens to artists that I play frequently.

    I allready checked that. All albums from Seal are in one directory. If you open that directory in Mp3Tag, select all tracks, you can verify their properties. For Seal the Artist and AlbumArtist are all identical. Standard I remove all others. If there is an ensemble or duet, I simple add another artist to the Artist tag, separated with \\. But that is not the case here. And apart from that, if by mistake one of the tracks is tagged as "undefined" for the artist, that would show up as such in all controllers, both android and windows. The problem only shows up in the Windows controller.

    Uninstalled BluOS Windows, deleted cache, restarted the player, stripped one album from Seal of all tags apart from tracktitle, album, albumartist and artist, no albumart and put it on the server. Re-index. Still shows up as undefined. Shows up perfect in Android device.

    If you are sure your tagging is "correct", I would have tried converting those files (flac -> flac) and tag them again.
    Also, if your files have "ape" tags, those tags could make a mess.

    I have no doubt about your findings, and it could very well be a software bug in the controller.
    However, if it is a bug, most likely there are som "errors" in your files making the bug "visible".

    I have this problem too, and only after I installed the BluOS Windows controller update a couple of days ago. There's nothing wrong with my tags.

    Hans & Frans, remove the artist(s) from "Favorite".

    @Tony - Found the bug.

    That does the trick.

    Thanks!

    Yes! Seal is back :-)

    Sounds like a logical conclusion because in my opinion it were the artists I listen to most have the issue.

    Thanks Bjorn!

    BTW, I have the issue long before the update from last week. At least a few months.
