Last page of the manual:
Steps to Factory Reset:
1. Disconnect the player from electrical power.
2. Wait 30 seconds
3. Reconnect the power
4. Once the LED turns Red, press and hold the PLAY/PAUSE button. The LED will
immediately turn Green and then back to Red - continue to hold the button for 30 seconds
5. After 30 seconds, the LED will begin to blink red – then release the button
6. All customization to the Bluesound player will be removed and restored to factory settings
IMPORTANT: Removing your finger from the PLAY/PAUSE button at any time before the LED begins
flashing red will cancel the factory reset and leave the player in Upgrade Mode. Just start the steps again
to factory reset the player.
You will know the factory reset is successful if the player returns to Hotspot mode (wireless connection -
the LED will turn solid green). If the player is connected to your network through a wired Ethernet
connection, it will simply connect as if it was a new player (LED will turn solid blue). -
Tried this on a player with version 3.16.7 installed. Doesn't work. Light will never blink red on step 5. It stays solid red no matter how long I hold it for.

Same as Rafael report above. 3.16.7 on 2021 Node. Tried several times, held way more than 30 sec.

Just lay youre finger on. Don‘t press the Button. Easy lay down. Then it will work fine.

Stefan Frerichs - THANK YOU!! I was close to launching mine out of the window. Your advice was spot on!!

That did not work for me as well. The red led stays solid, my Node 2 is bricked without me doing anything. Very disappointing!

Steven, not clear if you are attempting a factory reset OR your NODE is stuck on a red led and you are trying to reset?

Hi Sepp, the Node 2 is stuck on a red light, so I want to perform a factory reset by pressing the play/pauze button for 30+ seconds. However, nothing happens and the led stays red.

Thank you, factory reset is quite tricky to get the timing right, putting your finger on the play/ pause button earlier or later sometimes helps, it’s a knack. Unfortunately with a red led you will probably have to contact support if you cannot get the unit to factory reset, support@bluesound.com

I tried several times with different timings and all of a sudden it finally came back to life and started to update the firmware. All settings seem to be preserved so I cannot comprehend what happened. But who cares, it works again! Thank you Seppi!
