BluOS Cache Files
AnsweredFolks
My BluOS Controller cache file contains about 350,000 small files on a Mac.
I've seen the prior communications on how to clean them out, but the BluOS controller app should keep these trimmed down to a useful working set.
Having that number of very small files around ,eans many system oeprations (like backups) take a very long time.
Please consider fixing this. If you really must keep them all, think about maintaining a large single 'blob' of data, held in memory, and stored as one file. You should be able to trim effectively with the 'blob' in memory.

Most of the cache files are thumbnails of the artwork.
In my use case that would be about 12GB of memory just for my local library.
Exclude cache folders from backup and keep your cache. If you delete it, browsing in BlueOS Controller will take much longer time until the cache is rebuilt. -
Here is how Album Artwork is stored; https://support.bluos.net/hc/en-us/articles/360000368827
In the KB we mention BlissHQ.com as a product to 'right size' your artwork. Also note there is a setting in the BluOS App under Player, Music Library to 'Optimize Artwork'. This will slow down your Index Process but will adjust the artwork in your cache to ensure a nice balance between artwork quality and file size. You will have to select Help, Diagnostics, Rebuild Artwork to enact this.

Not quite sure I buy the artwork thumbnails explanation. I only have about 11,000 individual tracks on my NAS folder that BluOS uses, yet there are over 247,000 files in this folder.
My CCC backup to a Thunderbolt 4 drive connected to a M1 Mac mini has already taken over an hour just to go through this folder. Using Hex Fiend to see some of the files, the IP address is not consistent with my Bluesound Node, and it doesn't look like other thumbnails I have used this app on before.
I agree with Pete. You have a folder named blob_storage in the Cache. It contains a single empty folder. Perhaps it could be used. Try to make this a little more efficient, please.
