Wired-headphones volume (PowerNode)

Is it normal that have to increase the volume to max when i use the wired headphones? (AKG 271 II, JBL - any children model)?

  I found the headphone volume on the Node 2i wasn't enough for my AKG 702s. I added a small headphone amp/DAC using the digital coaxial output and it works well. One of the great things about the Node (and thus the Powernode I guess) is that  all the outputs are live all the time with no need to switch between them. If I use headphones I leave the main hifi amp off, headphone amp off for speakers. I just have to remember to adjust the subwoofer switch in BlueOS to get full range to the headphones.

  From what I remember using Koss PortaPro with PowerNode 2, volume level was not a problem (at regular volume setting).  Sound quality was only serviceable.
