Bluesound Node & Samsung TV - HDMI e-ARC Connection Error Message
AnsweredI recently purchased a Bluesound Node from Crutchfield. I've connected it to my Samsung 50" Class using a new HDMI eARC cable running from the Samsung TV HDMI e-ARC port (#3 on the Samsung) to the Bluesound Node HDMI e-ARC port. The Bluesound Node is also connected via RCA cables to my Rotel RX 1052 Receiver (which is only 2 channel and not surround sound).
I can play 2-channel TV audio through my receiver and speakers, but when I turn the TV on I get an error message that states: "Receiver (HDMI-eARC) - Your audio device is connected to a port that does not support ARC. Please connect your device to the HDMI3 (ARC) port." However, the Bluesound Node IS connected to the HDMI3 (ARC) port. Although audio is playing through my receiver and speaker system, I'm wondering why I get the error message and if the audio is e-ARC quality?

Hi Peter
Yes, the Bluesound NODE supports enhanced Audio Return Channel. Sounds like you are hearing and all is well but your Samsung TV is reporting a false error. Check the Samsung TV to ensure it is on the latest firmware. ARC is not a format our quality so much is it is a signal output to transport quality or formats.
Our good friends down the hall at NAD Electronics would also encourage you to 'trust the cable with the label' and see if the HDMI Cable is Premium Certified. Here's how to check that; https://www.hdmi.org/spec/premiumcable

I a similar issue except that sound does not play. Firmware is up to date. I am using a reliable cable. Please advise.

This issue still exists connecting a Samsung TV to the BlueOs soundbar via HDMI or Optical.
I'm using the Bluesound supplied cables. Both the TV and the Soundbar have the current operating software upgrades.
There appears to be a compatibility issue with Samsung TV'S?
Please address this issue??

Any solution to this? I have had BS support tickets, tried everything suggested, my BS node *used to* work properly with my Samsung TV but about a year ago the Samsung no longer sees the BS as an ARC device, so does not send audio via HDMI. If I swap BS for Samsung soundbar (same cable) the TV immediately sees ARC device and sends audio.
