New NODE 2021 Wifi issues
AnsweredHello,
Today my new NODE 2021 lost its connection to my Wifi.I was unable to connect with it via the remote apps, or use the preset buttons.
I did a factory reset and tried to reconfigure but immediately had issues connecting with my wifi. The message I got on the Bluesound app was in Dutch " Er heeft zich een onverwachte fout voorgedaan. Probeer het opnieuw" , which in English means We encountered an unexpected error. Please try again. I tried reconfiguring on multiple locations around the house with different Mesh transmitters, but result was the same.
I eventually bypassed the problem by connecting my wireless Mesh transmitter (TP Link Deco 5) to the NODE with an ethernet cable. The Mesh transmitter was al ready next to the NODE, so this was an easy fix for me.
This solved the issue, but also noticed a better connection and till now no issues with Roon
( I had a lot of issues with Roon on the NODE like Tidal media slow, but none on other Roon end points like chromecast audio or Hifiberry.)
What's going on with the Wifi of the NODE?
Wifi reception of the NODE wasn't great to begin with (the wifi Mesh transmitter is right next to it), but now totally unusable.
Is my device broken, should I have it replaced or is it a software bug?

If the LED is blue, kill the App and relaunch it.
If the LED is green, please see www.bluesound.com/setup and try setting up using a web browser or PC.

I did try different locations. No success. It had worked for the last 2 or 3 months next to the mesh WiFi extender, but now I am unable to configure the WiFi on the node. All other WiFi devices in house work as expected.

5G wifi issues has been an ongoing problem with BSN for a very long time...years.
The first step to resolving the issue has never been taken....Bluesound acknowledging and admitting it has a problem....therefore any effort to actually fixing it is not likely to happen.
Just a cut/paste response which brings the "Answered" flag to the post...as if its been resolved.

Hi Edward - in the BluOS App, please select Help, Send Support Request so our Support Crew can help identify what on your specific network environment is preventing a 5G connection to your router. This will help our Support Crew by reviewing the included event log. If for whatever reason you cannot send a Support Request from the App, please e-mail support@bluesund.com and let us know the make and model of your router, the ISP name if it is a provided router, and any Wi-Fi extender makes and models you may be using as well.

Update, for a year I created a workaround with a wifi mesh access point next to it, where I could the an ethernet cable from the mesh access point to the bluesound. This worked for the most part, but sometimes still gave some issues. Eventually I was fed up and had it replaced under warranty, got a new Node and all issues were gone.
Been using it for over half a year without issues now.
