An error occurred while setting up your Player. Please try again.
AnsweredI see that I am not the only one with this similar issue. I read through some of the suggestions but no success. Some of my background to put this issue into light.
I installed a new router. I configured it per the router’s instruction. All good on that end.
The Node 2 model I have continuously had a blinking green light. I could not get a solid green so I went into the reboot mode. When the light held to a solid green, I followed Bluesound’s instruction for connecting the Node to my WiFi system. I attempted numerous times but each time it failed. I was successful with inserting the WiFi name and SSID, protection type, and the Room Name. After that the light started blinking green and concluded with following error message: “An error occurred while setting up your Player. Please try again.”
I read on other postings that to make sure you are using the 2.4Ghz channel because 5.0 would not work. I read on my router that some devices don’t comply with the WPA3 so I kept my router at WPA2. I tried hard connecting the Node directly to my router. On my iPad in BluOS it registered fine. No problem with connecting the Node to my router. But when I attempted to hook up my Node wireless it would not keep. It went back into reset mode.
Finally I attempted to do the wireless manually (i.e. http://10.1.2.3/). It worked. The message on my tablet indicated “Congratulations! You have completed the setup process!” The Node light started blinking green for a few seconds. Then a solid blue light for less than a second. Then back to a solid green. I went back into my BluOS and still no player found.
Any suggestions?

If the LED switched back to Green after briefly turning Blue, the router is refusing the connection. The two likely scenarios are the password is incorrect or your router is out of DHCP addresses.

In order for me to do this I would have to physically move the Node closer to my router. I do not have a very long ethernet cable (i.e. +25 feet). By doing so, I will be unplugging it after disconnecting it from my router to relocate the Node to my living room. Would this not reset the Node? I attempted something similar, but when I unplugged the Node to relocate it the unit reset itself.

I hardwired the Node to my router, but that required powering down the unit. Configured the unit to my WiFi using the BluOS. All seems good. I was able to select radio stations from the web. It appeared to be playing by noticing the playing time in the app. I power down and moved the unit back to my room. It took less than 10 seconds to energize. Unit went to a solid Red followed by blinking Green. In the app there was no player found.

I could not recall so I repeated the steps. When the power remains and the ethernet cable is removed it goes from a solid Blue to blinking Green.

Short of re-installing my old router is this unit toasted as far as using my local WiFi for streaming music? Is this a common occurrence for the Node 2 unit?

Well I want to provide an update to my situation. Hopefully it will help others with similar issue.
I decided to put this Node to the side while I work on other things. Every now and then I would think about my issue with this Node. I know the unit was working because I would go through the process of connecting it to my older (prior) router and it would work. But I wanted to get this Node connecting to my new router. I would compare the setting differences between the new and old routers and for most part it was identical. Except for one item. My new router had WiFi 6 settings. So I decided to disengage this feature for the 2.4 Ghz channel. Everywhere I read it indicated that a device that is not WiFi 6 capable the router would be backwards compatible. However, one day I came across this article about WiFi 6 and some problems associated with IoT. What the hell...I went to the manufacturer's webpage to get the instructions to turn off the WiFi6 feature. It is not a single toggle. There are other features that are tied to WiFi 6. Anyway, did as the manufacturer instructed. Went back to the Node 2 to see if I could pair the device to my router. And it WORKED. What a relief. Got my network storage of music also connected just like before. So if you have similar issues as what I described above you might want to see if it maybe associated with the WiFi 6 feature. Case is now closed.

I have this issue as well. I moved the player over to the router - got the network configured. When I moved it back to where it will be used I was back to square one. thinking I wasted several hundred $
