I would suggest running the BluOS installer (the .exe file) as Admin (right click the .exe file and select Run As Administrator) to see if that resolves the issue.

Sam, I tried this after deleting the old installer file.  Running it as an administrator did not make a difference, it did not install with the same error message.

That should've worked - I am escalating your issue to our Support Crew, they will be in touch to take a closer look.

BluOS used to run on my windows 11 machine and now it will start but never opens the app.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled to no success.  something seems broke with the Windows 11 support?

    • Uninstall the old version from Windows Control Panel
    • Empty your Downloads folder
    • Reboot your PC
    • Download a new fresh version from www.bluesound.com/downloads
    • Install That version

If problems persist, please e-mail support@bluesound.com for a Support Crew Member to reach out

I am experiencing this AGAIN.  Never was a resolution or fix the first times this occurred...it just magically started working and kept working for a few weeks.  Today it started failing again and despite reinstalling and restarting various ways it still is failing.

I have the same issue as Mike R. BluOS just stays on the task bar and never opens in a window. Previously your solution of uninstalling grabbing latest version and installing again did work but as of a couple weeks ago it not longer works. Fix would be really handy as I can currently only control of my phone and as sound system is connected to my computer to change input I always need my phone.

    1. Try checking Windows Defender firewall.  For some reason mine had been changed (I think possibly due to Windows update?) and was blocking access. Once I reinstalled and reset the network access it worked.  Just reinstalling never did anything.

    2. And to the point...this app needs some basic fixes.  It should not hang, nor disappear, nor search endlessly for players (as mine still occasionally does).  Even basic software design would include some timeouts, some hints as to issues. This isn't 1980 and these aren't hard things to add to make the application more reliable and user friendly.

This is still not working and the support team just closed my ticket as resolved :0 I have tried 3.16.2 downloading all updates to my PC and also checking firewall configuration nothing is allowing the application to launch correctly surely this cannot be just my build
