LIbrary Indexing problems
I'm posting here hoping I get better help than from Support crew, who simply cut and pasted an existing webpage into an answer without any regard for my specific questions (did they even read it?).
I'm in the process of shifting from Sonos to Bluesound. I have around 50,000 tracks. First time around, the library seemed pretty comprehensive (I didn't notice any missing tracks/albums - but with that many there may have been some).
But now, when I add a new album to my collection (which I do a couple of times a week) and reindex (a) not everything gets indexed, and (b) all my album art disappears, and only reappears slowly over the next few days, by which time I've added another album. I know that all the artwork is there, because I've checked, using three different metadata editors.
I've tried both the standard reindex, and diagnostic reindex. Doesn't fix it. Any thoughts?

I since found a post about changing the settings and permissions on my Synology NASes, which appears to have fixed the problem (at least in doing this re-index I am seeing the majority of the artwork and seeing albums I haven't seen for ages reappear. So - fingers crossed. If it doesn't fix it I'll be back.

I guess you could test it by emulating the connection parameters to the NAS from a different computer, and seeing if you can find and open up the files that might be missing. Note that permissions may allow a file to be listed, but not read, so even if you can see the file in Explorer (or whatever) it doesn't mean the file can be indexed. Try playing it.
