Gapless music issues when playing hi res
AnsweredI have a new Bluesound Node 2021 version, connected through wi-fi to my local music library stored on my NAS. Having a wired connection is not an option.
When playing hi res gapless music (e.g. Abbey Road Side 2) sometimes it goes seamlessly in to the next song, sometimes there is a gap of a couple of seconds, often with the very start (fraction of a second) of the next song not being heard.
I have autofill enabled.
I assumed it was likely a wi-fi buffering issue, so as a test I have played another album that required gapless playback, at regular CD quality this time, and this works absolutely fine.
As a further test I then simultaneously played Abbey Road hi res through iTunes (which links wirelessly to the same NAS library) with my laptop right next to the Bluesound so both are able to see the same strength of wifi signal. I though this would be a good test to place an additional load on my wifi capabilities. The regular CD file through Bluesound still plays gaplesssly no problem, while my wifi has the additional load of the hi res file to my laptop to contend with.
This leads me to believe the issue is with the Bluesound not playing gaplessly as advertised, as it feels it is not able to go straight in to the next song when contending with a hi res file.
Anyone able to give any advice on what's likely happening here or a way around it please? Thanks.

The Bluesound NODE is Gapless. If you are not using an external DAC, then there is something else going on here - Please select Help, Send Support Request. If you are using an external DAC via the Optical or COAX out of the NODE, please contact your DAC Manufacturer's Documentation.

Thanks Tony. I've been using my external Roksan DAC via Coax. I'll see if it makes any difference using the internal DAC instead.
