Wont Connect "Unexpected Error"
AnsweredAfter searching all the threads on not connecting and "unexpected error" and getting no were I figured it out and wanted to share.
If your network does got have a 5ghz wifi network, the Node2i will NOT connect. 2.4ghz is not supported. you will get continuous unexpected error messages. Once I turned on my 5ghz wifi it connected first try.
Interestingly enough, I sent my daughter an old laptop to use while hers was being repaired and her apartment's access points were 5ghz only. Two times in two weeks. Its a shame because 5ghz does not have the coverage of 2.4ghz and so many new devices will either prioritize a 5ghz connection an or will only support it. My listening room does not get full 5ghz coverage so I disable the 5ghz radio so it forces my streaming devices to 2.4 ghz and I get better coverage.

Curious. That's unlike what I've normally seen - the 2.4ghz is usually far more reliable with the NODE, and I've always connected mine to only the 2i band (for the same reasons you've mentioned).
Perhaps there's a setting on your router for the 2.4ghz band that's blocking the NODE's connection. What the make/model?

Doubtful the router if blocking it. The Access Points wont even pick it up on the 2.4 ghz radios if I turn off my 5ghz radios. never even gets to the router.

same problem - Node won't work with 5GHz wifi
