Those settings are in Windows and dependant on your laptop - there are no BluOS Settings to enable those. Check your laptop documentation for WOL or stay awake on network activity options.

Ok let me be more precise.

I would like the Bluesound application to be able to send a Magic Packet to a Windows server to wake it up.

If it is not the case (which would be very unfortunate) could you plan to add this functionnality for a future release ?

In SMB 3.0, KeepAlive Packets are sent from the Server to the Client - this is still a Windows configuration issue to keep the connection from your Bluesound Player to Windows.

That being said, BluOS does periodically poll the server to ensure it is still there and will reconnect if it is not.

SMB 3.0 has been supported in BluOS since mid-2020

To me the KeepAlive Packets have a different purpose than the Wake On Lan (WOL) function

I doubt that you can wake up an asleep (supend to ram) computer with SMB3 Keep alive packet
(anyway if I am wrong please let me know how to proceed)

On linux you have some scripts like Etherwake that will be able to send a Magic Wake-On-LAN packett.

I'd like the Bluesound device to be able to send Wake-On-LAN as well.

The KeepAlive works as intended, but only while music is being streamed from the Windows system that is serving the files.    It won't (and shouldn't) wake up the server if it has gone to sleep.

So - please add a feature to be able to send a Wake-on-LAN packet to the configured server - and then wait a few seconds (maybe 10?) for the server to wake up before trying to stream data from it.

Note that for Wake-on-LAN to work, the server must be connected to Ethernet (not Wifi), but the client, whether it's the BluOS app or a Bluesound Node, only needs to be on the same local network, and can be on Wifi.

Today, every time I go to play music, I have to walk over to my file server and wake it up,  Having a Bluesound device do it automatically would make the experience a little nicer.

Hi. I'm on windows 11. I have my laptop plugged in and goes to sleep in 30 min. At one time if I accessed my music on an external hard drive the computer wakes up now I can't get it to come alive. I don't know what changed I can't get it to wake up now.

    Hi Torin

You will have to look into various Windows support options to adjust power saving settings altered on your laptop to see what is causing your issue. These can vary greatly from not just Windows service updates but from laptop model to laptop model.
