Buy discounted Powernode 2i or wait for new version?
AnsweredI have been researching streaming devices and receivers for some time and am very interested in Bluesound Powernode to power my Paradigm bookshelf speakers and stream my music collection, stream from internet sources and occasionally my phone. I am not an "Audiophile" but I do appreciate nice sound and well designed and functional gadgets.
I have an opportunity to buy a discounted Powernode 2i brand new in box with full warranty. Discount is roughly 25% off MSRP. Should I jump at this and not look back or will I regret it with the new Powernode (version 3) coming out?
The only feature on the 3 that seems like I might miss is the HDMI ARC as I *might* use the unit as sound for my TV but I'm also considering buying a Pulse Soundbar+ in addition which has this feature and using the Powernode in another part of the house.
I'm slightly concerned about the slower processor in the 2i will I notice this in day to day use when switching inputs, selecting music to listen to etc.
Look forward to your feedback.

You will not notice processor speed in day-to-day use. If you have the opportunity to save a few dollars and put those towards a pair of speakers, by all means... in fact our good friends down the hall at PSB suggest their new Alpha speakers sound great with any POWERNODE.
(and it's worth noting that POWERNODE 2is started coming with an HDMI port in late 2019... so you may have the ARC after all...)
