Node 3gen (latest) - still connection issues
AnsweredBought a new Node (3 gen) today. Excited. But the damn thing just won't connect to wifi. It's the same wifi in my home. 1 Gbps. Super fast. The 2i I had before had no such hassles in connecting. The "new" improved 3 gen cannot find it via the BlueOS iPhone app, via the manual Settings route on my iPhone, and even after a full factory reset, it's still not turning blue and connecting.
After 15 times of this, I always get "an unexpected error has occurred".
Youtube and other forums are full of this mess. I thought Node 3 is one of the better known devices? How? This very basic feature doesn't work!
What should I do with this pretty white brick?

Hi Nearly Normal
If you are having issues connecting your New NODE, please see www.bluesound.com/setup and follow the steps for a wired installation. Once you have completed the wired installation and a firmware update has occurred, you can then relocate the NODE to the proper, desired wireless location.
If problems persist, please e-mail us at support@bluesound.com and we will be happy to provide 1:1 support for you and walk you through this.

No Ethernet please. Please provide a wifi solution. I bought this device due to its promise of integrating easily with my wifi and then becoming a 'device' inside both Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect. I don't even have an Ethernet cable at home.
Either this brick with a purple light now works with wifi, or it's going right back to the shop for a full refund.
Welcome thoughts.

Purple light means it has timed out (left disconnected for too long), and you need to reboot the player. Once its back up and solid green, it is ready to connect.
(First time ethernet set up would just be temporary, is usually the smoothest way to get it connected to WiFi)

I have been using the node 2i on gb ethernet since i purchased it about 7 months ago and today it stopped working. it has an ip address and yet i can not connect to it. I have had so many problems with this device, it has been a constant source of pain! one of these day's it's going to go down the trash shoot. Was there a recent firmware update in the last week by chance???

BluOS 3.14.26. Released June 23, 2021, so no updates the last week.
Start with rebooting your router, and your Node2i.0 -
Got my second Node Gen3 today, with the first one a lot of wifi problems. Never had a problem with a 2i before. Now after setup and then the automatic update everything works fine. But after 10 minutes of use the same problems again. This is a serious problem!! The Node is now not usable....
