Clarification needed with regards to POWERNODE as front of surround sound
AnsweredHiya,
I'd like to upgrade my living room set up with Bluesound as my Node 2i has vastly upgraded my bedroom set up.
Apparently the POWERNODE can act as front left/right and center channel of surround sound. Does this mean that it combines the front left/right and the centre channel signals and then outputs to the two connected speakers? This seems to me to be a neat solution and saves having to add a center speaker. Am I correct in thinking that this would naturally enhance the dialog as this is what is normally output to the center speaker?
If this is the case then I'll probably get the POWERNODE and add two Flex speakers for the rear left/right.
BTW - I understand that 'Enhanced Dialogue' is a different thing. This is an answer I received from Tony W to a previous post:
'The Enhanced Dialogue option was available on the SOUNDBAR and SOUNDBAR 2i but no longer available as DOLBY has made changes in our anticipation of launching DOLBY Atmos on the SOUNDBAR+ in the coming months.'
Maybe Enhanced Dialogue then might be added to the POWERNODE at a future date? Adding this is not a deal breaker for me - but it might be nice to future proof against my failing ears!
Thanks again.

You are correct, no need for a centre channel.
DOLBY is moving away from Enhanced dialogue in their updated standards and CODECs. This is why it is not in the SOUNDBAR+. It is unlikely there will be a need to add it in the POWERNODE in the future, but never say never.
