I would start by assigning a static IP on your router for any Bluesound equipment you have, if you know how to do this…. a reboot of your Bluesound device would then test to ensure it has the reserved IP but guessing you won’t do that so best to log a support request with Bluesound.

From the App Help…Send support request.

By the way: restarting as the answer to this problem is not the solution, because I do not want to be restarting the rest of my life..

Nobody knows the answer? Or nobody who's is sharing the same experiences? It really is annoying, there is not a single consistency in this problem, except that it happens completely random every 4-5 times per hour playing songs from Apple Music.
Please Bluesound can you give me an solution, update or something?
When you need some of my settings please let me know, than I can share them.
    Thank you.

Chances are your firewall is blocking traffic. Help, Send Support Request in the App so our Support Crew can take a closer look and make recommendations that are unique to your environment.

The firewall is something I cannot control on my router. But I do not have the problem when I use the Bluos controller app. That works perfectly fine.
I think it has something to do with all out apple devices overruling the connection. But not taking over but just dropping the connection. So nothing is connected. Whenever we wat to connect back, with the device it's really hard, we have to do it like 2,3,4,5 times. And sometimes it just doesn't work.
We have 3 iPhones and one iPad who use the Bluos player.

Even if you do not use HomeKit on iOS try adding your Bluesound players to it and then see if that that helps with Airplay.

I have dropouts constantly when using apple airplay. Mostly when using Soundcloud or Itunes and selecting the Node on soundout. Its soo bad that I cant listen to music using this option. I have done numerous help requests and get the same guy everytime. The answer is its not the bluesounds problem as they dont know whats causing it. Or maybe cant fix it.

Yes changed the chanel numerous times, fixed the Ip address, have no other wireless extenders in the house, reset all devices numerous times. Submitted 3 help requests through the app. Now the help people have given up. They must be swamped with help request they cant fix.

I now ask myself why have I paid for a high quality music streeming device that cant do what it suppose to.

Has anyone got a device that works??

HI Olly - I reviewed your support history - looks like we recommended rebooting your router about 5 months ago - we have not heard since. If the problem has returned, again reboot your router to clear any routing table issues internally (like clearing your browser cache). A good rule of thumb is to do this at least quarterly if not monthly...

I just tried to stream to my Bluesound Node N130 from Apple Music, and it's not showing up as an AirPlay device to either my computer or my phone.  Meanwhile, my Sonos speakers are showing up just fine.  I rebooted the Node, rebooted my computer, and no dice.  It doesn't show up in Apple Music, System Preferences, or Audio MIDI Setup.  However, I'm able to get it to play just fine via the BluOS Controller app.  I don't know where to go from here, since I just rebooted everything, and it didn't help.  My Node is less than 5 months old.

Hi Miles, several threads in here and other forums about HomeKit / Airplay issues to non Apple hardware. It’s hit and miss if you have issues or not unfortunately.

Apple genuinely broke HomeKit in iOS 16.2 and pulled it from subsequent releases, iOS 16,4 which should be released very soon is supposed to be the fix.

Removing Bluesound devices from Apple Home and factory resetting does (for me at least) get it working again but you will loose all your settings. Router reboot, and Bluesound hardware reboot also needed.

just tried ios 16.4 airplay to powenode from iphone 13 and greeted with a second of music followed by 20 seconds of silence.

    Have factory reset powernode ydy.

Once I get past the 20 seconds of silence it plays ok.

    Will Bluesound fix this now?

    Hi James

We have heard similar reports from other iOS users once they have upgraded to 16.4 and have reported it to Apple.

    Thanks for your patience.

ok thanks, for info I have tested airplay to a sonos ikea lamp in the bedroom which is much further away from the router and not a single drop.

The powernode has a blue wifi strength signal and is 5 meters max from router.

do you recommend adding powernode to home or completely removing home on ios 16.4?
