New option to turn off the OSD on the M17
AnsweredHi,
Based on what I've read on other forums, I'm certain I speak on the behalf of many when I say that we would really appreciate the implementation of another option to completely turn off the front panel OSD on the M17.
The reason for this is because even the dimmest option is simply much too bright in a light controlled room. The M17 is below my TV and I have to cover its OSD each time I watch something because it's extremely distracting and frustrating.
Currently, there are 3 Brightness options in the Front Panel Display Options section of the processor's menu: Dim, Bright and I forgot the 'middle' one... sorry, I'm mentioning them from memory since I don't use the M17's video output at all, too buggy...
What I am proposing is a 4th option 'Off' which would completely turn off the OSD.
Upon pressing any button on the remote or turning the volume knob, the OSD would come up on the dimmest setting for 2-5 seconds. Actually, a new option could be introduced next to Brightness which would allow the user to select how many seconds it would take for the OSD to turn off again, with increments of 1 second. But it's up to you how you decide to implement this.
I do hope this is achievable through a firmware upgrade because this feature would mean a lot for us folks who have the processor in a light controlled room. We already have the dimming toggle button on the HTRM-2 remote and a 4th option would allow for very easy toggling depending on scenario.
