Node2i sound softer and duller after software update

My Node 2i had a software update today. The sound is softer and duller after that. I have to crank my power amp 2x higher (100% more) to get the same volume - I measured this using an SPL meter. Also, some of the detail in the midrange seems muted. I checked all my BlueOS settings on the app. Nothing has changed. Its the same effect when streaming through Tidal and Spotify. Please let me know why this is happening, and how I can fix this.

  In the latest update there was nothing altered that could affect audio quality and yours is the only post here regarding an issue with audio so very curious. Could be the Node, the leads, the power amp or something  else that’s part of the chain. Simple things like one the speaker leads being swapped could produce a similar effect.

  Do you have another source you can use in place on the Node, so still using the analogue leads from the Node to your power amp but replacing the Node with an CD / DVD / Blu-ray player and see what happens?

  I checked with alternate sources and the Node sounds significantly better in comparison. Thanks for your advise on the A/B test. I appreciate it.
