Low vilume on Bluesound hub
AnsweredHi - i had invested quite alot of $$ in both Nad and bluesound ecosytem . I was advised at the time of ourchase - i could get both my cd player and record player playing throughout my 8 zones . I have 2 c580s and 2 DSP 150s driving 8 zones . The cd pmayer works fine and is at tge required volume - but even after ourchasing a NAD pre amp - and also trying Mcintosh M100, and various expensive phono stages - the volume is terribly low and very frustrating. I was of the belief that the ecosystem would support NAD and bluesound products to get an excellent result - as hooking up a record player is a pretty standard thing to do . Can someone please advise me if this hub was tested before its release , or shed some light on how to configure the hub for a better result . It is tge top of the line NAD record player that I am trying ti set up .
Thank you

If using an external preamp then don’t use the phono input on the HUB otherwise you will overload and possibly damage the preamp section. An external pre normally has setting either via dip switch’s or links, check the documentation to match your cartridge and you may be able to improve the gain.
Assuming you are using MM then check to see the output specs, a low output cartridge is always going to be lower than CD (significantly) and turning up the volume is quite a standard practice when playing vinyl
