Cannot take Dirac measurements with Umik1 connected to Node Icon

When I try to take Dirac Live measurements using a Umik1 connected to the USB port of the Node Icon, I don’t hear any sweep sounds from my speakers or my sub. Dirac reports a general error. But when I use the Bluesound puck microphone everything works fine. There seems to be some compatibilty issue between Dirac Live and the Node Icon specifically when the Umik-1 is used.

    This is likely a driver issue with DIRAC and the third party microphone. Please confirm you have loaded the DIRAC microphone calibration file that is unique to your microphone. Please directly contact DIRAC Support for further assistance in this matter.

    Yes, it does. I used it, connected to my Windows 11 notebook, to take measurements and create filters with the Node Icon being used in digital passthrough mode to an external DAC.

    When connected to the Node Icon and using its internal DAC and preamp and connected via XLR to a power amp, Dirac is able to ‘see’ my 2+1 speaker setup and I am able to set the speaker levels. But when I start the measurement at the MLP, there is no sweep sound from my speakers and Dirac reports a general error (message 210, error code 1).

    Yes, I loaded the 90 degree Umik-1 file. Also, I must emphasise that I am able to adjust the gain settings via the Dirac screen when I connect the Umik-1, which implies that the Umik-1 is able to receive and process audio data. But when I click the button for the first MLP measurement, everything goes kaput.

    When I use the Bluesound puck, everything works.

    Hi! I am happy to report that Dirac fixed the problem. They updated my Dirac Live licence and after I downloaded it, I was able to connect the Umik-1 to the USB port of my Windows 11 notebook.

    With the subwoofer toggled to 'On' in the BluOS App, Dirac Live recognises my 2+1 configuration and allows me to adjust the volume levels for the two main speakers and the sub. I am also able to take the actual measurements for my listening preference (wide focus).

    I have one further question. When the subwoofer interface is set to 'On' and the crossover set to 80 Hz, can I simultaneously feed an analog signal to my sub and a digital signal (after Dirac correction) via co-ax to an external DAC? If I could do that, it would be brilliant.

    DIRAC supports Coaxial and TOSLINK outputs but not USB output on Bluesound hardware.
