Android controller NAS music long playlist song selection issue
AnsweredI have some long playlists (few hundred songs) that I created with songs from my local NAS and play them using the Android controller app on my Samsung S25 Ultra.
The problem Ive been having is with selecting songs by scrolling down the playlist and tapping on the song I want to play.
At the start/top of the playlist, songs can be selected directly by scrolling and selecting a song to play and the song you selected plays.
However, as you scroll down the list the selection becomes incorrect and tapping a song does not select that song to play but a different song further down the playlist.
In some (not perfect) testing, Ive found that it selects fine up to circa 50ish songs, then after that I select a song and it doesnt play that one, it plays the one after the one I selected.
The app displays the song its playing correctly, it just is not the one you selected. This makes you think you just tapped badly, but that is not the case.
This behaviour worsens the longer down the playlist you go. By the time you get to something like playlist item 200, you have to select 5 or 6 songs before the one you actually want to play to get the song you want.
My questions are:
- Is there a fix for this?
- Is this is known fault?
FWIW I think I first noticed this at least 2 controller updates back, but it seems to drift more now than it did, but I have no data for that, just a feeling.
