Missing support of snapdragon sound
I bought the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds because they are supposed to be able to handle aptx adaptive like the Bluesound Node n132. Now it turns out that no aptx connection can be achieved because the implementation of aptx adaptive is apparently implemented differently by each manufacturer.
I had various chats with Bose and Bluesound, but no success. Bose ultimately refers to the statement in the user manual:
Snapdragon Sound technology
Bose Ultra Open Earbuds feature Snapdragon Sound technology. Snapdragon Sound
optimizes Qualcomm® audio technologies across connected devices to ensure the
best sound quality, connection stability, and latency for your streaming audio.
To experience Snapdragon Sound, you need a Snapdragon Sound-certified device,
such as a compatible Android device. Once you connect the earbuds, your device will
automatically stream audio using the aptX Adaptive Bluetooth codec.
NOTE: To see which Snapdragon Sound features the earbuds support and check if
your device is compatible, visit: support.Bose.com/UOE
The Bluesound Node is not listed.
This means I would have to purchase a separate receiver that provides Snapdragon technology.
I find this very annoying because the sound quality and latency are limited. Isn't it possible to install the required codec via an update? Why is there no binding standard that all manufacturers must adhere to in order to be able to use the aptx adaptive designation?
Is there any prospect of improvement or a suggested solution?
