Why does playing a DSD file through Roon force a DSD to PCM conversion?
AnsweredHi All,
I'm bit confused about how to play DSD files in DSD when using the Roon app instead of BlueOS.
BluOS Setting: Audio > Select Output > Default
Play DSD file from the BlueOS app and the NODE ICON plays DSD with DSD64 showing on the screen under the clock on the upper right. This is the expected behavior.
Close the BlueOS app
Open Roon app
Play the exact same DSD file without changing any setting on the BlueOS app. Now the NODE ICON does not show DSD64 in the upper right. On Roon it shows me that BlueOS is doing a DSD64 to 352.8kHZ conversion then 352.8kHZ to 176.4kHZ conversion.
Is there a way to stop these conversions have just have the NODE ICON DAC decode the DSD and output analog to my integrated amplifier instead of doing these conversions?
Thanks

This is a question for ROON, not BluOS.
Please contact ROON Labs or please enjoy native DSD playback on your NODE ICON using BluOS and not ROON.
