Play non-BluOS playlists using Siri Shortcuts
AnsweredHello. I recently changed from a Sonos Connect to a Bluesound Node and so far I love it. I did have some feature requests involving the way BluOS interacts with Siri Shortcuts.
I wish that BluOS had more Siri Shortcut commands. Specifically, I wish there was a command that would allow you to play playlists from your library that aren’t BluOS ones (for me, those are iTunes playlists). There are workarounds but I wish there was a “Play Music” Shortcut command that had the following options: 1. Choose source which would include non-BluOS playlists, 2. Choose player, 3. Choose shuffle, 3. Choose repeat.
I was able to do a workaround by converting my iTunes playlist into a BluOS one. I then purchased the third/party BluRemote app which has more Shortcut commands than your native app. Here are the Shortcut commands with the native app: Next, Previous, Play Preset, Toggle Mute, Volume Down, Volume Up, Open Now Playing, and Toggle Play Or Pause. Here are the Shortcut commands with BluRemote: Change Volume, Mute Player, Now Playing?, Select Preset, Set Repeat Mode, Set Shuffle Mode, Set Volume, Skip Track, Start Playing, Stop Playing The most important commands for me that BluRemote allows that the BluOS app does not are the following: Change Volume, Start Playing (discrete), and Stop Playing (discrete).
Anyway, I love your product so far, but these changes would make it even more user friendly. Thanks.
