How to reduce fixed volume level when connected to external dac via USB

Hi,

I want to connect Bluesound Node Icon to external dac (RME adi-2 dac fs) via USB, but when I do that it is on fixed volume which is good, but I want to reduce that volume a bit, because on some not perfect quality tracks there is some clipping because exceeding max volume. How I can adjust that volume level to lets say 95%?

  Hi Vaidas

  When using an external USB DAC, volume is removed from the DSP equation. You can not alter this. The clipping you are hearing on some hot tracks will not be affected. Try connecting using COAX to test this and when doing so, you can disable fixed volume.

  You should review yoru third party DAC settings to resolve this issue.
