Simplified Node under $200 with digital outs only and no buttons
AnsweredI have bought into the Bluesound ecosystem with a pair of Node players. I want to add streaming boxes as a source to rooms that already have preamps and speakers. It is hard to stomach $350 a piece for several Node Nanos when companies like WiiM exist. All I want is
- App control of the player (no buttons or interface needed on the player itself)
- Digital outputs (optical and SPIDF would suffice) and no RCA (no DAC necessary)
- No audio inputs of any kind are needed
It would be great if such a player could be offered closer to $100 for those of us that prefer more modular stereos and want a true Bluesound whole-house experience.

You could try a used N100 from ebay. Picked up a good quality one for £54 and it works well grouped and solo. Got all the latest firmware updates. I use it in the dining room and it's mainly linked to the N130 in the front room and 2i in the kitchen. Know this is not exactly what you asked for but could be a way forward but try and make sure it's a quality one.
