Randomly changing active unit
AnsweredI have had a Node 2i for a year or so, which has been great. Late last year, I added a couple speakers, which also work well, and no issues at first, but still use the 2i as the source and don't use the speakers without also using the 2i. In the last month, the BluOS controller has been randomly changing the active speaker away from the 2i to one of the other speakers, so that nothing shows up in presets or available music. Easy to fix, but annoying. Is there a more permanent fix other than unplugging the speakers?

Hello David,
Please send our support crew a log via Help > Send Support Request (log is automatically attached). They may request a second one as well so as to capture what's going on when this 'switch' occurs.

This has mostly happened when I'm not at my desk by the Node 2i, but a couple times recently I've noticed it happen and the Node 2i is flashing green that it lost its network connection. Not sure why, nothing else lost the connection, but maybe it's an issue with the Node 2i, not the controller software. Don't think it's ever happened in the middle of listening via the Node, always when it's not being used.

If it's a wired NODE, consider changing the cable...
If it's wireless, consider a DHCP reservation and reboot the player. it's also fair to say other products may or may not disconnecting and reconnecting but buffer their packets and don't have a status indicator so you don't notice... speaking from experience and not as a brand advocate.0 -
The Node 2i is wireless. I did the reboot, and haven't had the issue in the day or two since. Hopefully it's better now. Not sure how the reboot compares to unplugging and replugging the system, which hadn't fixed it previously.
