Bluetooth Codec Selection?
AnsweredHi...
This may be a more generic query about bluetooth. I have a Powernode 2i and occasionally want to use it to transmit to either my iPhone 11 pro or FiiO Q5s bluetooth enable Dac/Amp for mobile use with my headphones. Both the iPhone and FiiO support multiple bluetooth Codecs as does the 2i
So how do I know which codec is being used (I don't see the any way to choose at either the iPhone or Q5s, that's another issue). Further is there anyway to specify a specific codec?
Finally if I'm connected to both devices via bluetooth, does the 2i select a common denominator codec between the 2 as the iPhone does not support the Aptx codecs. To my knowledge both devices are 5.0
Appreciate a tutorial for bluetooth dummies :)
Thx.... bluetooth works fine, I just don't seem to have visibility or configuration control.

You don't - this is all auto negotiated by Bluetooth and you cannot select it. It does default to the highest quality common standard of the two devices. Bluesound Players use BT 4.0 with AptX... this was upped in 2018 to Aptx HD in 2i Players.
