    Hi Nedko,
the USB port is a read-only interface for USB thumb drives / hard drives, not an audio output.

    Best, KriHad

    Hi KriHad,

My understanding of USB interface is quite different. It is not a read-only interface. And as the core system of Node 2i is Linux, I think it is about a development to implement such a good feature.

    Thats BlueSound Brain ... ;-)
Finest hardware, but not over all good software

I am testing Roon. It's a game changer to explore music libraries. But i have issues using the PulseFlex 2i as streaming endpoints (roon ready)

At the moment Bluesound annoys me so much that I rather throw the pulse flex 2i out of the window before I give up roon ;-)

    Hi Michael

It's likely your PULSE FLEX has weak wireless signal strength. When using ROON, you are playing raw, uncompressed PCM streams and will require unattenuated consistent 5-10 Mb throughput to each and every player in your home. This is from the router to your home, not what the ISP provides.ROON Software is unapologetic about this and has a number of tricks to help you with this.

If your PULSE FLEX is not seeing 4 Blue Bars under Help, Diagnostics, (< -45DB Signal Strength) consider a Powerline Adapter Kit to wire your PULSE FLEX.

    Hey Tony
Thanks a lot for your Info.
My Pulse Flex is connected via LAN (Gigabit)
I use a switch for my MacBook and the Pulse Flex 2i.

Regarding BlueOS in my comment above.
That was not meant in a bad way. But BlueSound has unfortunately not really implemented that well. Therefore, 1a hardware, but no good software. Even on the desktop, the navigation is very cumbersome and not intuitive. Too bad Bluesound does not offer Roon Core. An extended Node ("Node-R") would be mega cool.

    Hi Michael

Bluesound places a lot of effort in following industry standards such as IEEE networking standards. Many low-grade switches do not support all multicast protocols or have disabled multicast suite protocols such as IGMP snooping. The release of BluOS 3.10 last September put significant work in this area.

As a test, remove the switch from the equation and try moving the FLEX to a place that does receive 4 bars just temporarily.

    Hey Tony

    In order:

    1. the diagnostics does not show that the Flex is connected to LAN

    2. signal strength is not updated automatically (this should be improved)

    3. only after a reboot, the correct signal strength is displayed.
    Excellent.

But what should I do with it now?
When I use Roon, I still have short crackles

    Hi Michael

The diagnostics page does update automatically - the fact it didn't is more symptoms that multicast traffic is being blocked or throttled on your network. Play the same content without ROON using the BluOS App. Play the free album in the BluOS under Neil Young Archives. Then Play Radio Paradise.

If you only hear crackles using ROON, please contact ROON. If however, you hear crackles playing any or all the sample content above using the BluOS App without using ROON, then select Help, Send Support Request in the App so we may review the log file and have a closer look and provide detailed 1:1 support to you.

From my point of view - I don't need any further 😁

USB DAC Output is only available on the new NODE N130 and not on older models such as the NODE 2i.
